Hello!
We are working on a simple shower room in the countryside and need input on how to attach the trim to the curved ceiling. The trim was painted last year and due to other things (kids...), it's only being installed this summer, and now the wood has dried and the trim is quite hard.

Do you think it would work to cut it to the right length and then nail it as you bend? Will it break? Is it even possible to bend it? Attached is a photo of the ceiling and the shape of the trim. We also wonder how to make a nice connection to the trim that's already attached (to the left in the photo). I suppose we need to construct some sort of template...

Thanks in advance!

Looks like a small quarter-round? It's quite flexible. Just need to shoot/nail it closely together. Another variant is to saw grooves in the back of the molding, soak it in water, and then shape it around the ceiling. Just need to be a bit careful.

Obviously, painting work sometimes follows.

That's how I usually do it when I baseboard/molding around round objects and curved things.

Thanks for the response! We will probably try cutting at the back and soaking. The quarter sawn wood is about 20mm, so it's not the smallest variant. It's painted with linseed oil paint, so I hope it's a bit flexible.

How long do you need to soak approximately? 1h? 6h?

Keep it wet/moist and shape it according to the roof. It's not uncommon for it to break sometimes, that's just how it is sometimes.
