Yes, it leaks. But from where? Puddles form in the basement when it rains + wind SSE/ESE, so it comes from outside. A puddle appears next to a bricked-up door below ground level (newly bricked-up seal at the ground) it might be getting in through an unsealed opening and traveling in the lecablock to settle on the concrete slab the house rests on. The second puddle forms under the joint between the house and balcony (the space under the balcony is a sauna today). We can trace water in the wall above (floor 1) in a fresh air vent where the concrete reed under the plaster is wet. Diagonally above this vent on floor 2 is the balcony and a dormer in a broken gable roof.
I'm not expecting an answer as to where, but rather how to effectively search for the leak since there could be 30 different places it could be coming from. I could call an inspector, but my experience is that they don't know much, so it would be nice to locate it myself and save that money for the repair instead. Thanks in advance.
