How to interpret requirements for EI 30?
Hello!
We are planning to build a carport with a storage room about 5 meters from our house and have a question regarding how to interpret the Swedish building regulations' requirements for fire protection. For "small houses near an accessory building," the requirements are:
- EI 30 in one of the walls
- Unclassified windows: Max 4 m²
- Doors: Without fire ratings
when the distance is between 5 and 7 meters.
The house has quite a few windows in the section closest to the storage room, this is how it looks in my sketch:

Questions:
1. The house itself has a construction that meets EI 30 (panel->external gypsum->170+45 mm stone wool->OSB->gypsum), does the storage room then not need to meet this requirement?
2. Are all windows unclassified unless you specifically order fire-rated windows? In our case, they are Elitfönster xceed with some "energy package" that lowers the U-value to 0.9.
3. If there are more than 4 m² of unclassified windows on the house's facade closer than 7 meters from the carport, is it not possible to meet the requirement?
4. Must you count the entire window if only part of it is closer than 7 meters?
5. Can the storage room walls be built to meet EI 30, without windows, and thus meet the requirement?
Best regards,
Anton

It suffices that one of the buildings meets the EI30 requirement when it comes to auxiliary buildings against small houses, as stated in the text under the table in BBR 5:611. So make the storage EI30 classified.
Aha, so good. EI 30 seems to be easy to achieve.
According to this: https://www.paroc.se/-/media/files/brochures/sweden/fire-sound-insulation-se.ashx
it suffices with some kind of board on the inside and outside of the frame and glass or stone wool in.

Double layers of boards inside (wall and ceiling) are sufficient, with the outermost layer being gypsum, then you have it rated as EI30. Then, depending on where the door is located, rating might be required for the door as well.
