Hello

I am renovating a 100-year-old house that is on gravel with a low basement. The foundation is about 75cm thick and the beams are thus placed on top of the stone in the outermost 75cm.

When I renovate, install new drainage, new water pipes, and waterborne underfloor heating, how should I insulate the outermost cm?

You can see the wall in the pictures below

Hello Kristoffer!

I think you should remove the old blind bottom boards that are over the wall as they unnecessarily steal a lot of height. Instead, insert some suitable sheet material, e.g. thin K-plywood, which you attach to the sides of the beams from above with angle brackets. Seal the compartment with, for example, asphalt paper type AC 350 before you insert insulation.

If you rotate the pictures 90 degrees counterclockwise, they will be easier to understand...

OK, thanks
