I have a wall of aerated concrete that I want to extend by 25-30cm.
What materials should I choose to continue with the plastered structure without getting cracks or needing to use soft joints?

I'm considering wooden studs - plywood - drywall - plaster, but I'm wondering if it might be a bad idea to mix organic and mineral materials and if that risks cracking? There's a raised floor with underfloor heating underneath, so masonry is not an option.

What do you think - should I choose other materials or am I worrying unnecessarily?

  • A partially constructed interior wall of lightweight concrete, adjacent to a plastered wall, with plants and a window in the background.
  • Concrete wall section with wooden beams and layered flooring, showing an unfinished construction area under planning for extension without using mortar.
Glue the Ytong blocks and plaster, wood will definitely not work well.

Will it be good with ytong blocks directly on the floor chipboard then?

You hang them on the wall, glue with tile adhesive, and secure with dowels.
