How to engrave/make text on wood?

How does one create text like the one in the image? Dremel and steel ruler along with a steady hand? Small chisels?

Cut text in a computer-controlled cutting machine on a thin self-adhesive rubber mat, which is then sandblasted when the rubber mat is placed on the wood board.

Ugh, how boring. I imagined someone sitting with a steel ruler, engraving tips, and a magnifying glass.

But then I'll have to come up with my own solution to make nice texts in wood

I work with such a laser and guess it takes about 5 minutes to engrave that logo.

I think it looks like they are raised, especially the bike, but I could be wrong, maybe it's an optical illusion.
Can we get a photo from another angle? Or better yet, an answer to the puzzle: positive or negative text?

Notice that the letters, bicycle wheels are light at the bottom and dark at the top, the light falls from below.

Well, I think you're mistaken. When I look at it, I see it as being recessed and the shadows confirm it. If they were raised, the shadows with the same lighting would be at the bottom outside the text, but I've been wrong before

The lightning strikes just under "RALLY", if there had been negative letters, the upper part of them should have been illuminated. I think.

Yes, you have a point, but it is still wrong because then the shadow should have been outside the letters on the top side. Also, I see it as if it is taken outdoors and that it is the sun creating the shadows because if you look at the closure of the champagne cork lying at the bottom, the shadow becomes too long for it to be caused by the flash; it should have been directly under or slightly above.

Yes, it's true, the shadows are a bit off. I can't quite figure out the shadows on the wooden decking either; they don't match with the bottle cap, which I also think doesn't give a correct shadow image. Guess we'll have to wait for a response from TS.

Aside from the shadows, when I sit and look at the text, it's sometimes positive and sometimes negative. The same optical illusion as that staircase that turns.

I think they are on a table that is white-painted and the floorboards are brown, which is why the shadows appear odd. Then, what suggests laser or sandblasting is that you can see irregularities because the wood grain has varying hardness. But we'll have to wait for chrissofsweden, so raised or not will probably get answered
