Hello!

We have a summer cottage from the 1920s. We are renovating a room and are a bit unsure about how to proceed with the walls.

Probably the best is to use drywall, but it might be a bit difficult and messy. Any other tips on how we can tidy up the walls in a nice and smooth way?

Attaching pictures :)

  • Interior view of a partially renovated room in an old summer cottage, showing floral wallpaper peeling, a window, and a snowy evening scene outside.
  • Renovation of a summer cottage room with partially stripped wallpaper and exposed walls beside an open wooden door.
  • Old wallpapered room corner with floral pattern, loose hanging string lights, exposed ceiling edges, and stacked black chairs.
  • Old stairway with partially removed floral wallpaper, exposing bare wall underneath; wooden handrail on left and red-carpeted steps visible.
  • Renovation scene with partially stripped floral wallpaper on walls, a window with an outside night view, and a lamp on the windowsill.
If you don't want to skim coat everything, a spackling and a renovation wallpaper provide a good result.

Yes, that's probably where we'll end up :)

Are you going to paint or wallpaper?

Haven't really decided yet, but leaning towards wallpaper
