was looking at a house
where they seemed to have made a mistake with the construction
was built from the outside in
cladding dense plastic insulation wind protection paper gypsum
shouldn't it be cladding wind protection paper insulation plastic gypsum??
there was a strange smell in the house

Yes, absolutely. The problem with such a wall is that moisture from the inside is pushed into the wall through the wind barrier and then it molds in the wood construction.

Guaranteed a mold house....

Yes, it is fundamentally wrong, the plastic should be on the inside. Forget this house, every wall segment built in that manner needs to be torn out and redone, and the smell might never go away.

K
When was the house built? That sounds completely insanely stupid. Hasn't someone misunderstood something? What does the seller, the realtor say? The inspector?

How to build in Florida.

It's often warmer and more humid outside than inside.
But wind protection is usually not needed on the inside.
But I guess this was in Halland.

PS
Sorry for the Saturday nonsense :o
