How to build a new front for the stove?
Hello!
The house I've bought has a stove with a rather outdated design. I'd like to achieve a straight front like the one in the picture with the least sooty stove. Do we have anyone who has remodeled the front of their stove?
My hope is that you can tear down the mexitegel and the frame and then just build a new one the way you want it. Or?

It was absolutely stunning! Wouldn't touch it. So beautiful!
A 70s stove in a 50s house. I don’t think so
Are you sure it's from the 70s?
I think it looks like a fireplace from the 50s with regular bricks that have been painted over and had an insert put in. It is very similar to a fireplace from the early 60s that I knew (except it wasn't painted).

Completely sure. The house was expanded in the 70s and the stove is in the extension.

Maybe a middle ground is to just polish everything so that it becomes a smooth surface?
