How to attach the gabled roof to the house wall?
Hello!
I am soon going to start building a conservatory from Willabgarden, pre-cut 4x7m with a gable roof. The house has a clapboard exterior, and underneath are log walls...
How should I attach the ridge beam and the roof joist to the house? Should I cut into the panel down to the timber and attach joists level with the house panel so that the ridge beam and roof joists have a proper hold against the house, or is it sufficient to attach everything to the existing house facade???
Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions.

It depends a bit on how the facade looks, I would say.
I would cut out the panel, mount the conservatory, attach a sheet metal to the studs (in your case the log wall), and a sacrificial board that covers the sheet metal and connects to the cut panel. If it's possible to insert and fasten the sheet metal under the panel, the sacrificial board is not needed.
With the reservation that I am an amateur in carpentry

Don't know what it looks like, but I would mount a post to avoid problems.N Ninjagani said:Hi!

Oops, so old but there are probably more who are wondering about the solution.
