Hello,

I am building a small cabin. The walls are uninsulated, one brick thick in hollow brick. On top, I will build a wooden frame and truss construction.

What should I place between the wooden beam and the brick?

How should I best attach the beam? Some considered options:
- Crown the wall with a cast concrete top equivalent to two layers of brick with an embedded threaded rod.
- Weld the threaded rod to a foot that is then embedded in the third top layer.

Thanks!

Can't you just drill down threaded rod and secure it with chemical anchors?

Between the brick and the wall plate, a strip of roofing felt should be enough as a moisture barrier.
