How to attach a nail batten for paneling?
Hello!
I'm going to fasten a 34x70 nail rule to the frame clad with asfaboard.
The facade board is 25mm.
What length of screw or nail should I use?
4” seems a bit flimsy...
I would like it to be easy to maintain since the panel might need to be replaced in 40-50 years.
Can one expect that C4 non-stainless screws will have rusted fast after such a long time?
Thank you!

4" should be enough if you nail properly. 2 pcs cc60 hold damn well even if you only get ≈40mm into the wood.
Of course, screws for outdoor use work too, they won't rust but they do tend to break if you try to unscrew them, but that doesn't really matter then.

Thanks for the quick response! Then I’ll go with 2x 4” cc 600.Rickard. said:
I was unsure if I should have gone with larger dimensions, 5” or 100-120 screws and fastened with 1 screw/nail in each wall stud.
But two feels better, for sure. Now the hammer will get some work!
Thanks again!
