How to achieve a nice transition between old and new plaster?
When plastering, it is difficult to get an even and nice boundary between the new and old plaster. The sand causes issues.
Are there any tricks?
In my case, it's hydraulic lime plaster that I mix myself with "putssand" the old man bought earlier - uncertain about grain size - possibly 0-4.

Skipped that board - but it will be purchased now! The more of an amateur you are - the more tools you need - had forgotten that juh!

Hello. I would think the problem is too coarse sand. 0-4 is a good size for the lower layers, but for the surface finish, one typically uses a plaster with smaller sand grains. Especially if it is supposed to be a smooth plastered surface.
