Hello!

I've seen that some cast down to the ground to be able to have a stove when they have the house on stilts? When is the threshold for that?

For example, if you are going to have a cast iron stove weighing 280kg and build a house on stilts - what measures do you need to take then and where can you find it? Asked a few places that sell stoves, but it was quite a disappointment - they barely understood the question.

Hi, I'm going with 100kg.
What you definitely want to do is look at the house construction.
But 280kg, then I would probably have placed a rough foundation straight down under the house past the frost depth, simple and steady.

One casts a foundation for heavy fireplaces such as a tiled stove or soapstone stove, which often weigh over a ton. A 280-kilo fireplace can probably stand directly on the floor, but the tip about supporting it with an additional pillar was not a bad idea.
