In 50s kitchens, there were often sliding doors made of masonite.

I'm considering building something similar along a sloped wall for storage.

Has anyone done this?

What thickness of masonite is required - and which board should be used - I can't find masonite.

How do you make the sliding tracks - a clean routing, I guess.
 
I just found an article from a rebuilt boat where they used what they call glaslist see image 6 in the article.

Does anyone know where these can be purchased?
 
These sliding panels used to be made of thin plywood, didn't they? That's what I've seen, at least.
