How do you carry home a 100kg fireplace insert??
Are there any tools to help get such a piece into the car and from the car into the cabin and into the opening of the masonry fireplace?? How did you do it?
It sounds incredibly heavy, and it's also compact and might be difficult to grip, perhaps? It's a Keddy 102.
So it's a purchase via Blocket.

We were two men and a cart with "stair wheels."
The hatch and some plates on the inside of mine (not a keddy) could be removed to make it a bit lighter to get into the stove.
But 100kg should not be a problem to carry for two normally trained individuals.
If you want to make it easier, you can use a lifting harness for assistance as well.

Have you already bought it? Otherwise, there's the Keddy 1002 or 2002 that comes in three parts, precisely to make it easier to carry in...Fröken Hjälplös said:
Two people of normal strength and a dolly solve it otherwise...
NOTE: The following are guesses, I haven't moved anything like this myself. (However, other heavier items.)
It's probably easier with a trailer or a vehicle with a flatbed than a regular car.
If it's in a box, there should be some form of handles, and if there are two people, it's "only" 50 kilos per person, heavy but doable.
To move on the ground, a dolly is good. To get it into a car, I would try to lift it. If it's from a place with a loading dock, just back up to the dock and push it over.
If you are alone and need to get it into a car, I would get fairly long planks to act as a ramp to the car, fasten ratchet straps or a winch to the car, and then pull it into the car. The same goes for getting it out, but then you also need to think about how the planks will want to slide down from the car and fall to the ground, so that needs to be stopped somehow. (Maybe dig the ends into the ground so that they stop there.)
To get it into the stove, I would place planks or similar (preferably pallets) in front that end at the same level as where it needs to go, and try to get it up on those first, then just push!

I don't know how that particular model looks, but my Contura i7 also weighed 100 kg. The outer shell/heat shield can usually be removed, as well as some parts inside. What remains would then be about 80-85 kg, which one should be able to handle alone.

If you have the charm that your avatar suggests, we'll come as a whole gang!Fröken Hjälplös said:
I'll bring car + trailer + dolly.
A couple of other easily charmed tough guys will bring their muscles.
You yourself will provide cheerful encouragement and a beer when it's done
When should we come

Thanks Haha, that sounds fantastic!! I have a wood stove that also needs to go through the kitchen door. Can we handle everything at once?? It needs to be picked up in Varberg and delivered to Trollhättan. It might be a bit tricky to bring a whole entourage. I'm lying here googling winches now. Wondering how to attach it to the trailer and if the "angle" matters (whether it's horizontal or vertical). Found one at Biltema for 239kr....KnockOnWood said:
