As we are going to install FTX, we need to remove these old asbestos ventilation pipes (they are located right where the FTX pipes must go, so they need to be removed).

What is the best way to do this?

In another thread on the subject, someone mentioned that it's okay to remove them, but you should avoid cutting into them. But then how should you proceed? Cutting is the only solution I can think of.

I was thinking of using a respirator and a disposable plastic suit. Use a plant sprayer to spray water in the air beforehand, so the asbestos particles stick in and fall to the ground. And then a multi-tool with a thin saw blade to cut the edges of the pipe and lift it down into a trash bag.

Do you have any other suggestions?
