My mind is blank. I can't figure out how we should start renovating our rooms.
We have a house from '63 that needs a total renovation. It has a water-based heating system with pipes along the floor under a metal strip. A one-pipe system.
We want to keep the radiators themselves but need to replace the thermostat as several of the radiators are leaking.
How should we start?
We have to take down the radiators to be able to renovate and paint the wall underneath, but do we have to shut off the whole house's heating and drain the system during the entire renovation? We have two small children and need to take one room at a time.
It doesn't feel like much fun to do this during autumn and winter directly.
Does anyone have tips on how you would have renovated this?
Would you have hired a plumber to replace the thermostats on all the radiators before or after you renovate the rooms?
We also need to deal with all the electrical wiring in the whole house; should this be done before or after we renovate the rooms?
Grateful and happy for some tips and advice ☺️
Best regards, Linda
