Hello!
Measured with a laser in a room in the basement yesterday.
One wall is about 4m long. 4cm difference in height
Visible in the picture if you zoom in.

Read up a bit but it feels so significant...
Should I be worried?

Worried about what?

What would you be worried about and what have you read up on?

Why it is like that. Has the house settled somehow? Moisture? Bearing issues? Those types of concerns.

Does the laser show correctly? And if it has settled, shouldn't you check the floor instead?

I used a spirit level too. It's showing correctly.
I used a spirit level too.

The room is in a basement. It's a raised wooden floor with a carpet on it. I'll probably need to tear it up to examine the floor.

I noticed the difference when I was going to hang a curtain rod and wanted to test the laser.

Does the floor above the ceiling also slope?
Otherwise, maybe the finish is just not very high on the ceiling work in a basement, but the floor is level in the rest of the house.
Or is the house modern so that it should be completely accurate everywhere to the millimeter?

Haven't had the chance to check the room above. Will do that.

Everything is crooked and skewed. Must have been drunk who built this '70s house.
But it was a bit extreme down there.

Measured several of the walls in the basement and the whole house seems to be built crooked. 3-4 cm difference over 4-5m.
Could it really have been built so crookedly?
I will get back to you after I check the upper floor.

I have now checked the upper floor, and the floors above are just as crooked. About 3-4 cm.
I measured the entire upper floor, and if you divide the house in the middle, half of the house slopes about 4cm while the other half is straight.
So on half of the long side of the house, the floors on the entrance level slope about 4cm, and in the basement, the same slope.
Is it okay? Help me with how to proceed.
Or should I just live with it...

Difficult to know, maybe some inspector or similar can check if it is just old adjustments to adapt to, or if there are problems that can/must be addressed. Slightly skewed houses work too, but if there is a weak construction in the foundation, or damage, it might need to be stopped or corrected.
