Have tried to pull out these plugs but feel that someone on the other side is receiving. Is there any way to remove them without damaging the wall? Minimally, at least.

  • A drywall wall with a metal wall plug partially inserted into a small hole.
Screw the screw into the plug, but not all the way to the bottom, then give the screw a light tap.
Afterwards, you can pull out the plug.

You can screw in a screw that fits and tap a little. Then the expanding part behind the wall will spread out and you can either pick it out through the hole, or cut it apart and push the parts into the hole.

See here

Insert the screw that was there previously and tap it with a hammer.
You will notice that the screw pushes in the back piece and when it is almost all the way in, it will stop.
Then you can pull everything out. Wiggle it a little and it will come out.

There are several different ways:
- Almost completely unscrew the screw, gently tap on the screw head until the screw has sunk in about 1.5-2cm, remove the screw and molly plug.
- Drill away the outer washer, push in the rest of the molly plug.
- Pry away the outer washer with a flathead screwdriver, push in the rest of the molly plug.
