I am searching online for where I can buy a load of "really big" stones? I'm thinking 100 kg and up. It's meant for reinforcement of a dike. But hard to find? Who sells that? And is it expensive...?

Check with the stone crushers, they have crushed stone and natural stone. Then look around where they are blasting for foundations, many want to get rid of the remnants.

Check with a farmer up in Göinge, the stone that has been picked from the field this last year can and probably should be sold.

There are several stone suppliers here in Skåne.

Ok but I mean "natural stone," really large ones? I don't think I can find any? I'll keep looking.

Come and get it, I probably have about 300 tons from fist size up to 3 tons each.

The only ones I've seen advertise natural stone are like gravel pits, but the price is usually completely wrong if you need larger quantities. The demand is probably simply large enough that there is no open market.

You probably have to make direct contact with farmers, trucking companies, and/or landscaping firms and fish there.

As previously mentioned, go out to a kind farmer; he has stones in abundance in his fences. If he also owns a front loader on the tractor and it's not far, you might be able to get away very cheaply.

Out here in Österlen, natural walls with "bumlingar" are often constructed at new developments. My own land contained quite a few when I was building, and during the excavation, I kept an eye on which ones to save and later reuse.

But the OP's original question was how to get hold of these and not at what cost.

It is definitely not cheap.

If you just find the right place, there are definitely many places you can get stone completely free in reasonable amounts.
Even if it wasn't explicitly asked, it's clear that price is an interesting factor. Buying individually from those who sell stone makes it significantly cheaper to cast concrete.

Indeed! I chose this mainly because it suits my small house better and the elevation would mean a lot of stone. If one chooses natural stone, it also requires a really skilled stone builder, which can also become quite expensive.

Ah, now I understand what you mean. Yes, if you want a more or less cosmetically appealing wall, it gets expensive.

However, I interpreted the thread starter as if TS is more after stone fill that will be covered.

You are probably right!

Then it doesn't have to be beautiful boulders - large stenkross will suffice.
