I'm going to build a wardrobe here.

Here's the current plan:
I'm using the Platsa system so the wardrobes are 180 high, 60 deep, planning to place them on a frame. Then I have upper cabinets that I need to cut due to the slanted ceiling that starts at 191cm (from the floor to the ceiling molding). There's a slanted ceiling at the back of the wardrobes, so I will cut the top of the upper cabinets and add a cover panel for stability and to make it look a bit more luxurious.

1. How do I attach the frame underneath? Do I even need to attach it? For example, to the floor/wall...
2. Do I need to remove the baseboards and ceiling moldings behind the wardrobe? If so, how? And if not, how do I work around the moldings?
3. I know Platsa is unstable from the start, but cutting them also opens up this hollow board, how do I properly attach them to the ceiling/wall? A piece at the outer end will be uncut, can I use some metal bracket?
4. How do I handle moldings outside the wardrobe afterward? Both generally to achieve that built-in nice feeling, and also up to the ceiling where there are uneven planks?

Any other tips and thoughts? This will be my very first building project and I want to impress my husband and dad 🤓

  • Empty room with slanted wooden ceiling, wooden floor, and white walls. A window on the left with a black curtain, and a radiator below.

Hi, I'm curious to see how it went - did it work well to build in with PLATSA?

Also curious about how it went painting the furniture (if you did that).

Thanks!
