How big a hole for the patio door?

I'm going to install a patio door this weekend, there hasn't been a door there before so I plan to remove some siding from the outside and frame up a new opening for the patio door, but how much larger than the frame should the opening be? 1cm on each side or 2cm?

If you have a door with module dimensions, e.g., 10x21, that is the measurement of the opening. The outer dimensions of the frame are slightly smaller unless it's a Polish plastic frame, in which case it can be anything. But make sure you have proper stud lumber so that the frame screw doesn't end up in a seam between two studs.

I have 45x95 in the walls now and plan to put double studs on either side of the door. The door is from elitfönster, so it should work with 9x21.
