Looking for a house, and now I've found one that seems promising. It was built in 1948 and is entirely constructed of concrete (foundation: concrete block, frame of concrete). It has a toilet on the "ground floor" but a bathtub in the basement.

Doesn't it seem a bit silly to have a bathtub in the basement? Does anyone have tips on what to consider when it comes to houses like this? For example, what is it like to have a bathroom in the basement where it is normally very humid? Isn't there a high risk of moisture damage?

All comments are welcome =)

Moisture damage on concrete? Bridges are exposed to all kinds of weather ;)

But isn't it quite common to have moisture damage in basements? They are usually made of concrete, right?

No, but on things that are built in the basement like walls just framed against the concrete, extra floors, etc.
