House in aerated concrete Jägersro Villastad (risk of blue concrete?)
Hello!
My husband and I are in the process of buying a house and have placed a bid on a single-story house in Jägersro villastad in Malmö. The area consists of "mass-produced" small houses built in the mid-60s. The house we are interested in has both a frame and façade made of lightweight concrete. We asked the realtor if the lightweight concrete is Siporex or blåbetong, which he did not know and recommended that this be checked during the inspection. I am now wondering if the current owner shouldn't have some documentation about the building materials? And how is the lightweight concrete checked during a regular inspection, shouldn't gamma measurements or radon measurements be needed?
Grateful for answers!

Even though it is blåbetong, it is not certain that the radon levels are above the limit values. The seller should have measured this before selling because, at least the regular, measurement takes a couple of months.
If you live in an aerated concrete house, you are aware of the radon level. If you can't present it, then it is too high. At least that's how I would reason as a buyer. A short-term measurement takes less than two weeks and costs around a thousand kronor. It is definitely in the seller's interest to show that the house is safe to live in.
Thank you for your answers!
Blåbetong is quite uncommon in Skåne as far as I understand (due to the proximity to Siporex manufacturing in Dalby), but it can still occur. Can we ask the sellers to conduct a radon measurement or is it something we should pay for ourselves?
And is there anyone with knowledge of the area (Jägersro villastad) who knows if there is a risk of blåbetong there?

You can only conduct reasonable measurements 2 times a year, the next measurement period is a couple of months away.H Husköpare17 said:Thanks for your replies!

If the house is interesting otherwise, I would go for it and conduct a measurement later.
I agree with jarlingar, expect an additional cost for ftx.
