Hello, I'm going to set up a clothesline in the basement laundry room. From an interior wall to an exterior wall.
The interior wall is hard and solid, and we could screw a board there to attach hooks. But the inside of the exterior wall sounds hollow when you knock on it. The first 4cm is nothing, I think, then it becomes hard. We tried with a Hammer-In Nail 120, but it didn't hold.
Does anyone have any tips? All the exterior walls sound hollow. A friend thinks it's insulated. The house is from '52.

Have the same problem. House built in '52 with "hollow basement exterior walls."
In my case, it is poorly applied plaster (about 1-2cm) on top of cinder blocks.
In a couple of cases, I have drilled with an 8mm drill bit, inserted PL glue and a 10mm plug. It holds for light loads.
For heavier items, I have had to chip away the plaster and replace it with new plaster, and then do it "in the usual way."
I will follow the thread with curiosity to get other tips..........
