I am going to modify a wall. I have had a construction firm perform structural calculations. For fun, I had chatgtp perform the same calculations, and apart from largely the same results, it suggests that the hollow blocks are not load-bearing enough. It suggests trying to inject expanding concrete into the blocks under the supports. The load is 35kN per side, and the concrete footing in the picture is about 8cm. The beam is to be grouted underneath on this footing.

What do you think? The person who made the drawings didn't say anything other than at least 20cm of support.

  • Concrete base and brick wall under renovation, showing exposed sections and mortar. Beam placement site for wall reinforcement.
