...to begin with. I have been given permission by the electrician to do this myself!

I need to run flexible conduit in the basement ceiling. My question is which option impacts the load-bearing capacity the least:
Routing about 16mm in the underside of the joists or 16-17mm holes higher up in the beam.

The holes or routing will be done near the outer ends, so there will be no weakening done near the break area in the middle...

I also need to do the same for 25mm pex for heating. However, not the same beams.

What do those of you who can calculate this say?

The house was built in '43, so they are solid, healthy beams!

On the wood guide, there is a guide for drilling in joists.
I recall that you should have at least 40mm of wood remaining, which means placing the center of the drill hole 40+drill diameter/2 mm up from the bottom edge of the joist.

I took the liberty of googling it for you.
Here.

Thanks, then it's as clear as korvspad! It's time to make holes, since the cutouts should be made on the top side, if I interpreted the text correctly. Now I don't know if it's "classified" wood they used -43 😄 but I'll follow the recommendations!
