Hello I have no experience with awnings, but I will eventually put up a window awning at the vacation home because it gets so d*mn hot in the summer. A strap to raise and lower the awning should, as far as I know, go through the wall so it can be operated from the inside. Is it just a hole with the strap through it or is there some form of internal pipe you also install? No risk of damage like moisture creeping in the future, I was thinking, if it's just a hole due to drafts/cold?
