Hiding water pipes in the kitchen.. What are the rules??

We are renovating the kitchen where we have a kitchen stove (which finally seems to be able to work 😅)

With that, we have a whole lot of pipes. Or actually, we have two pipes to the stove that run along the floor and one that goes straight up the wall to the attic and the expansion tank.

Can you build a small "wooden box" over the pipe to the expansion tank to conceal it? There's a joint in the middle of the pipe, so you might need to make a small hatch there to be able to open and inspect. There will also be kitchen cabinets on the lowest 90 cm, so you don't need to build anything there since it won't be visible anyway.

Are you allowed/can you do that? Is there anything you would need to consider if you do?

If it only involves heating pipes, you can basically enclose them however you like. However, it's a good idea to ensure that connections are accessible without having to destroy anything if a leak should occur.

Okay! Sounds really good I was thinking of making the "box" clad in beadboard (the wall it's against has that) and with screws so you can easily remove it if there's a leak. And if there would be a leak, it will come out onto the countertop, so we would notice it quickly!
