Hidden beam installation against internal support beam?

Raising the thread.

I'm after this modern look and also want to avoid joist hangers and maybe in the future add a roof that can handle snow in zone 2 (Stockholm).
How do you think these joists are attached?
Built in Norway. The picture is not sharp but in the second image on the right, you can see two holes or screws. Do you think they are toe-screwed and will they hold for a roof with snow?
