I have a question that I need some expert help with.

I'm in the process of converting an attic space into a closet. I've started the plastic sheeting. Not a fun job. Such fiddly work :)

There's a piece that I'm not quite sure about. I've started a strip of plastic at the edge towards the wall. It should be attached to the plastic coming from the ceiling and to the plastic lying on the floor. So far so good.
But is it okay to tape a strip of 40-50cm over the beams as I've begun in the picture? The plastic should then be secured to the ceiling.
Or should I cut away and have as little plastic as possible over the beams and tape directly to the floor?
Plastic sheeting partially covering wooden beams in an attic space, with red dashed lines indicating areas of concern or work in progress.

Came up with another solution by overlapping under the beam instead. So the question is no longer relevant 😎 Thanks
