I have looked at a house with elevated radon levels. If it is blue concrete, I do not want to buy it (since despite good radon levels, it is still dangerous from a radiation viewpoint), but I believe I understand that ground radon does not emit radiation if it is reduced?!

So I ordered these from when it was built, but I'm stuck as I don't know how to interpret for example cement (can it be mixed with blue concrete) and btg hollow blocks? Could they be blue concrete? GRATEFUL for help A scanned building document with handwritten notes and blue markings, related to construction details and materials used in a house. Technical construction description for a house, including materials used for the structure, insulation, and drainage. Highlighted sections covering details. Building specification document detailing materials and construction elements like flooring and roofing, related to potential radon concerns. Building plans with cross-section diagrams of wall constructions for Värmo-Hus, showing layers including wood panels, insulation, and boards.

Lightweight concrete is what can be blåbetong. So you can stop worrying.

Oh super thanks!

I do not fully understand what you mean by what is or isn't dangerous, but according to the documents, the house is not built with blåbetong. Gasbetong is another synonym (but not all gasbetong is blåbetong).

High levels of radon are handled with increased ventilation, and for ground radon, by limiting intrusion.

If you are going to drain the house again, you can lay down pipes that you suction to ventilate the gas out before it penetrates.

In summary, radon is not extremely dangerous or expensive to handle.

What I think TS means is that blåbetong also emits gamma radiation. (though low radiation)
