HELP! Silicone or oil first on sanded countertop?

hi!

I have now sanded down the countertops that are in beech and will stain them with oil, and then oil them. (Hedins)

Now to the question... is it recommended to apply the silicone sealant first before oiling? Or is it generally okay after?

I'm worried it won't adhere....
What is the practice?

I have tried both, the silicone does not want to adhere properly to oiled wood.

Okay, then I'll go for silicone first... it does feel better when there is the possibility, once it's dried it shouldn't come off even if it absorbs oil from the side.
