We have bought a house. And one of the load-bearing walls has been taken down. And it has been relieved with two nailed together 45x220s. Which has caused the upper floor to settle by 3-4cm.

The house was built in 1920. So it has been standing for a long time. Now we want to renovate the space into a kitchen and want to correct the mistake and install an I-beam or glulam beam for support. But then I want to slightly raise the transition. To install the new beam. I'm considering slowly jacking up the joist with a jack and then installing the I-beam. What should I keep in mind?

Or is there something else I can do?

The picture shows the opening in the load-bearing wall.
In the attached drawing, you can see how the house looked when it was built. Red shows the wall that is opened. Blue shows where there is a new wall on the upper floor that has settled.

Houses from that time can be built in various ways, so it's best to hire a structural engineer who can check how it looks in reality and determine how the issue can be best addressed, as well as calculate the dimensions the beam and columns should have so that you have good documentation for the building application.
