Hello,
I have been in contact with an engineer and will be making a reinforcement as a "heart wall" will be partially demolished.
I have determined that I should use KKR 80x80x3 (2 pieces) posts and an HEA200, which I will then reinforce to achieve the lowest possible construction height.
However, I would like to know if it is possible to switch to an HEB beam and thereby reduce the height even further.
Attached is an image showing where the wall will be demolished (marked in red), the portion of the wall that will remain is 4000mm and the span/opening will be 5058mm.
Snow zone Stockholm, the roof trusses rest on the exterior walls, and it is a two-story house.
Take care

HEA 200 can be exchanged for HEB 180 or IPE 240.
