Hi

I am going to hang a 20 kg heavy mirror on a drywall. I have this set:

Should I use 4x32 mm or 5x52 mm? What diameter should I drill with?

Kind regards,

Peter
A wall anchor expansion tool set with red handles and multiple metal wall anchors in packaging, used for hanging items on plaster walls.

Instructions for two sizes of screws: 50 pieces 4x32 mm and 10 pieces 5x52 mm, on packaging.

You should use a molly made for the thickness of the board you have in the wall so that the material is properly pressed against the back.

How do I check the panel thickness? What thickness are 4x32 mm and 5x52 mm made for?

Both are for single drywall; if you have double drywall, it's a different model with a longer neck.

How do I check if I have single layer drywall?

You'll see it when you drill.

Okay, should I use 4x32 or 5x52 mm for a 20 kg mirror?

4x32 should, after a simple Google search, support 18 kg each, and be drilled with an 8mm drill. So if you are using two molly, 4 would be enough.

But considering the brand, I would probably use two 5x52, which are drilled with a 10mm drill and should support 2x35 kg.

According to Fisher's table, the size of the molly plug does not matter when attaching to plasterboard.
They specify 20 kg with a safety factor of 3 in 12.5mm plasterboard.

Just took the info from the internet from someone who read the packaging, to be honest I don't understand the meaning of "20 kg with a safety factor of 3 they specify in 12.5mm plasterboard" :D

But in any case, two molly plugs of any kind should suffice. However, first check if it's single or double plasterboard before you start screwing.

But if a five can handle 35kg, then why are two Molly needed for a 20kg mirror?

Well, there can be many different reasons.
For example, the mount below is difficult to hang straight without two screws.

Metal wall bracket with two keyhole slots for screws.

Yes, of course
