Hello!

I am about to hang up my projector and screen in our living room. However, I'm unsure if my plan will work.

I have a projector weighing 7.3 kg and a screen weighing about 17 kg. The screen has 2 loops at the ends (approximately 3m long motorized screen), and my hope is to hang it from the sparse paneling in the ceiling (the house is from 86 and has ceiling tiles as the ceiling). The hooks I plan to hang the screen with are 4.8mm in diameter and 20x80mm. The projector mount is a round plate with holes along the edges. I think I can attach it with 3 screws (same diameter as the hooks but longer) if they are attached to the edges of the sparse paneling, or would it be better to attach with only 2 and place them more centrally.

Can this work, or do I need to figure out another solution?

A robust stud, 28x70 or maybe 34x70, can easily support up to double plasterboards, around 2x36 kg. Admittedly, these are attached at many points and well distributed but. I would not be worried about attaching around 7-9 kg per attachment point.
