Hello!
I have a question about gluing horizontal leca blocks on an existing parquet floor that will become the base for a stove foundation. Should you have something between the parquet and leca, such as thin foam in case the floor moves with the seasons?

  • Concrete blocks arranged on wooden parquet floor against a brick wall, possibly forming a base for a stove.
  • A cast iron stove on a patterned rug with cardboard pieces and a hammer nearby, suggesting a fireplace project setup.

Sounds strange to place a stove directly on parquet. How does the floor look under the parquet? Is it a very light stove so that the floor can handle it?

Otherwise, you can lay the lecablock floating on the floor and just grout them, for example on construction plastic.

What type of stove are you planning to put there?
I'm curious about how much it weighs.

We have our stove weighing around 150kg standing on the parquet, but with a hearth pad in between.

However, it sounds a bit odd to glue lightweight concrete blocks to the floor...

Exactly, the idea is to lay floating leca as a base. Under the parquet there is an old tiled floor where an old wood stove used to stand.

A Rosslagspisen. You can see the pictures that were missing in the first post.

Looks really heavy. I would cut away the parquet and place it directly on the chimney breast.

Thanks, didn't see any images when I replied.

Agree with Claes, remove the floor underneath.

Yes, I've considered that, but then thought that if one fine day (which is unlikely to happen) I want to remove this fireplace corner, then the parquet floor is undamaged underneath.
