I'm planning to have at least a 260-liter (= same kg weight) aquarium in the living room. I will build the bench from reinforced IKEA kitchen cabinets according to this model: http://www.plantswap.se/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3232&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 (scroll down a bit on that page). On top, I plan to place a laminated oak board. Unfortunately, I have mixed experiences with laminated oak boards. Some have warped (not only the cheapest boards have warped).

The question:
Could a laminated oak board warp at all with the weight of a full glass aquarium of at least 260 kilos on top of it? The board will be exactly covered by the aquarium.

I previously had a 230L on an Indian piece of furniture. The top surface was really uneven.

I added a layer of about 12mm foam board and on top of that a chipboard. Leveled everything with wedges. Worked like a charm. I made a trim to hide the foam and chipboard. Not sure if that's for you, but you definitely don't want 200L of water on the floor. If it's full glass, it needs to be even underneath...

I believe an aquarium weighs more than 1kg/L. Yours will probably weigh over 300kg once you've added gravel and stones.
