It's time to start with the railing between the upper and lower floors, it's been a project I've put off for a long time. The hardest part has been figuring out how it should look. Inspired and motivated by AndersG's beautiful railing, I am now in the final planning stages. It won't be like AndersG's, that style wouldn't quite fit here; instead, it will follow the design of the deck railing - a sort of simplified archipelago cross. Since it doesn't meet the requirements for 100mm gaps, etc., the entire inside will be covered with tempered glass panels. I might possibly embed small spotlights under the top rail centered in each cross. I went shopping for timber over the weekend and drove around Haninge, but I couldn't find square 95x95 or 100x100 laminated posts. Regular square-sawn is available, but I don't want to use it due to the risk of warping. Coop Forum had posts, but most had inlays and patterns, and that doesn't work.

Is there any attentive forum member who has seen such anywhere?

You possibly don't have a staircase manufacturer in your area that you can buy from? ??? If not, what type of wood are you looking for? Maybe I can help you. ;)

The carpenter who made my posts glued them together himself. Could that be an option?

Glue-laminated posts 95x95 and 120x120 are available at "our" lumber yard in Sigtuna.

Glue-laminated posts, as mentioned, have slightly differing dimensions just like glued laminated timber in general.
