Glued beam 2 x 145x45 vs single beam 1 x 195x45
Hi,
I'm working on sizing a mono-pitched roof for a sunroom with multiwall polycarbonate, and according to construction guides, I should use 195x45 C24 for the cross beams/roof joists.
I have limited height and can't achieve enough roof pitch if I use 195x45.
I was thinking of instead using double 145x45 C24 glued together with PUR and screwed tightly.
Would this glued 145x90 C24 be as strong as a single 195x45 C24?
Alternatively, maybe a glued laminated post 140x140 could be used, but I'm unsure if they are meant for roof structures.

Another thing I was thinking about is heating the conservatory when there is a lot of snow. The roof will be made of heavy-duty polycarbonate sheet at 40mm. I assume that if I heat the room (15m2), it should melt the snow on the few days it snows heavily? This should make the sizing of the roof beams easier.
