Glue renovation plasterboard to concrete
Hello!
I've searched through every forum in the world now it feels like, without finding a real answer...
I've taken down all the loose wallpaper and am now considering putting up renovation plasterboard, the thing is that there's rock-hard concrete in all the walls and it would take forever to plug and screw.
Is it enough to just glue with something like PL600? Do you need to apply some type of pressure against the boards to avoid having too much space between the wall and the board?
What happens if the concrete walls aren't 100% straight but maybe a little uneven, usually concrete walls aren't completely straight even if you perceive them to be.
Applying a skim coat instead is out of the question since I'm terrible at it

Is it in a basement you are going to put up the drywall? If so, you need to frame and leave an air gap between the studs and the concrete. They must not touch the concrete wall as they will absorb moisture. Then drywall the studs. I also recommend insulating.
It's fine to glue up plasterboard. But why would you do it in a hallway? It sounds cumbersome. Furthermore, renovation plasterboard is flimsy so you can't easily adjust for many irregularities.

Basement walls should be insulated from the outside and only from the outside.
Framing and putting plasterboard on the inside is generally not a problem.
Now, maybe you have an excavator or a very big need to dig, but insulating a basement from the outside requires quite a lot to do afterwards. If the basement is dry and ventilated and you have an air gap of at least 3 cm between the framework/insulation and the basement wall, it works well and the wall can breathe. So no studs or insulation against the walls. The base plate is placed on asphalt paper. Steel wire is run in the framework to prevent the insulation from laying against the wall. Mineral wool is fine to use. Ensure that the interior cladding is sealed against the floor, ceiling, and side walls to prevent warm air from seeping in from the heated room.Gabbe1 said:Ok, offtopic, but I can't help but comment.
