Hello,
Being a novice, I thought I would try to convert a walk-in closet into a children's room. I plan to put up renovation gypsum board and then wallpaper. I plan to glue the gypsum board to the plaster.
Now I have a few questions about this. I thought of buying everything from one place and chose Byggmax.
1. Does anyone have experience with Byggmax construction adhesive? Does it work or is it penny-wise foolish?
2. How should I lay the adhesive lines? Around the edges with strips in the middle or should it be fully covered?
3. Do you need to hold the boards for a long time while waiting for them to dry?
4. How much adhesive is needed approximately? The adhesive cartridges are 300 ml. I need to cover 18m2 with gypsum.
Hope someone has the answers
Best regards,
Anders

I would never have glued plasterboard onto plastered surfaces; instead, I would have used a grid/lattice to create a ventilation gap and then screwed on the boards.
1. I think their construction adhesive works well on my countertops... sticks like a rock. How it works on plaster, I don't know...
2. I first placed a bead around the perimeter and then laid out beads with 5 cm spacing
3. It takes a while to dry but you probably don't need to hold the boards for too long....
4. Hard to say, buy more than you need and return the rest...

I think it's possible to glue, but I've only glued on other plasterboard (small pieces that don't fit on the studs). I also used regular drywall screws on the boards, so I didn't have to hold them.
You can always remove them afterwards and fill in with putty if nothing else.

Assuming the plaster is properly attached, you should be able to glue with a "cartridge adhesive." There should be recommendations on the Byggmax tube if it adheres to plaster...
If not, one can install with, for example, gipsbruk even if it might be a bit more cumbersome.

Thanks for all the advice. Started setting up with the construction adhesive which worked well, but the solvent caused a strong smell. Didn't feel okay with small children nearby.
Continued with gipsbruk which was really smooth and worked well!
Thanks for the tips!
