Hello,

We are considering installing vertical panels on one of our walls at home. The wall's dimensions are: 5500x2400mm. The problem is that the wall is a load-bearing wall made of hard concrete. Since the panels need to be screwed every 20-30 cm all around, it seems like a huge task to drill, plug, and screw. We are wondering if it might be possible to glue them onto the wall instead? And if so, is there an adhesive that can handle it? The dimensions of the panels to be installed in whole pieces are:

Thickness: 11mm
Width: 620mm
Height: 2390mm
Weight: approx. 14kg

When we asked in the store, we didn't get a definitive answer other than that there was a risk it would be too heavy to glue. That it would be too much total weight. Does anyone know?

There is a glue (with a clear American style in its marketing) called NoMoreNails, available at hardware stores. It is supposed to bond quickly and be strong. I have used it to glue cover panels on cabinets in the kitchen, with good results. What type of panel is it? Brandens beadboard? 14 kilos sounds a bit much, but it shouldn't be a problem to glue.

Check out NoMoreNails!

Or screw some studs into the wall, you don't need to drill/plaster for all the screws in the panel then. Otherwise, I thought PL400 would work? or are there too many movements in the panel for it to work?

Europrofil has a drywall adhesive called Magna that is excellent for gluing. If it holds up for gluing drywall in a bathroom with tiles, it will likely hold for what you are doing.
