Here is a brick wall that mostly consists of about a 1 cm layer of plaster. Part of the wall is bare brick. I would like it to be smooth and am considering applying plaster to the brick so that it becomes reasonably even, and then gluing on 6mm renovation plasterboard. Could this be a good idea? Can you glue plasterboards directly onto a plastered wall?
Or you can dose the clicks with fix depending on the substrate and press/load the gypsum boards (13 mm) with fix (provided that the existing plaster has reasonable load-bearing capacity).
Otherwise, maxit gypsum is very easy to work with!

13 mm is much stiffer. If you have irregularities in the wall, there is a risk that the 6 mm boards will become wavy when you press them. 6 mm works well if the walls are not very uneven, so you can use a trowel and don’t need to click-glue. If you click-glue 6 mm, you also have very weak walls "between the clicks" (compared to setting up 6 mm sparsely without a backing board).
With 13 mm, you can more easily adjust the boards without them bending and you have a more durable wall.
