I'm in the process of installing downspouts again after some renovations. I have the setup from the gutter like this:
Elbow->Short straight extension->Elbow->Long downspout down to the ground->Elbow->Elbow->drainpipe (that goes into the ground)
My problem is that at the top I've got it aligned so the downspout runs vertically along the wall/mount, but at the bottom, it sticks out too far from the wall to be vertical. Can this be corrected?
The only places I feel I can correct this are in the two lower elbows, but since they are inserted as far as they can go (without being cut), I'm not sure if it's possible to trim them to get the pipe in at the bottom.
Tips on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated.

It is fine to cut off the bends a couple of centimeters if you need to bring them together a bit more.

Cut carefully, they are conical... If you take too much, it will be difficult to assemble.. Otherwise, there are ready-made ones, called sockelknä
Nice. I had never heard of sockelknä. Learned something new. Thanks for that.plåtrickard said:
But are these fixed, or are they adjustable in some way so you can fit them as needed?
They have a fixed measurement, at least the ones I've seen.N Nygge72 said:
I think the best option is to dig up part of the ground pipe and attach a couple of pipe bends to it underground so that it comes up at exactly the right spot.
That's not an option as it is now hidden under a deck. Besides, it's only a matter of a few cm, so I think it would be difficult to adjust even underground. I'll start by cutting the two bends I've already bought and see if I can make it work. Otherwise, I'll try with an elbow.C cpalm said:
I saw that Bauhaus sold plastic ones for a cheap price, and I assume they follow the same angles/measurements as the metal ones, so I can try out the cheap version and see if it works. I'll lose about 70kr and I think I can survive that. I'll just skip this week's pizza.

Just a small remark:
You don't have a strainer up in the gutter where it connects to the downspout with elbows, do you?
We used to always have that before, resulting in leaves and twigs blocking the flow, and the gutter filling up with debris and overflowing along the entire roof.
Nowadays, it's self-cleaning strainers at ground level that are recommended.
But hopefully, you've already taken care of that.

No, I'm using a cleaning funnel down at ground level. So nothing in the gutter.KnockOnWood said:

That's what people always used to have, resulting in leaves and twigs blocking the flow, and the gutter filling up with debris and overflowing along the entire roof.
Nowadays, self-cleaning strainers at ground level are what's used.
But hopefully, you've already arranged that.
Two 15° bends in succession provide a 2-3 cm lateral displacement. It's certainly possible to place it above ground, but it won't look as nice.N Nygge72 said:
The base elbows are more around 10 cm depending on the size, so they probably don't add anything you can't achieve by modifying the two bends you have.
