Anyone have a good building description for a gate with horizontal slats?

The gate I'm going to build is about 140 cm wide, so it needs to be durable.

The easiest is to make a classic Z-brace, but for horizontal slats, it becomes a lying Z, i.e., an N! Remember that the diagonal brace should originate from the lower hinge. If you do not want the diagonal brace for aesthetic reasons, probably the only alternative is to have someone weld a sufficiently rigid steel frame and screw the slats onto it.

How do you attach the hinge fittings to a gate according to the N model?

Is there a possibility to have the picture uploaded again? It seems to have disappeared? :(

  • Wooden fence with a painted mailbox, situated in front of a house with beige siding and visible windows.
  • Wooden gate and fence with a brick wall and patio in front, residential buildings in the background, clear sky above.

Thanks :) Looks good!

what is that handle?

Wooden fence gate with a door handle and cylinder lock, surrounded by blooming lilac flowers and a white planter nearby. Wooden gate with vertical slats and a metal handle, framed by white walls, surrounded by greenery.

It's possible to install a regular handle with a cylinder as well. I think it looks nice when everything "blends" together.
