Hello! I am renovating a children's room in a 1.5-story classic 70s house. I have torn down old plaster/insulation since I was planning to add more insulation and install some windproof material. But the question is whether these support posts are load-bearing. Now that I see how much space there is behind them, I'm considering moving them out by 40 (not decided, maybe 30 will be enough). But is it possible, or is a structural engineer needed for this? There is a central wall 2 meters and 20 cm from the existing support post wall.
It looks like part of the truss, so you cannot alter it without an approved building permit, and to obtain that you should bring in a structural engineer who can recalculate and redesign the truss. Plan storage between the trusses instead.
