We have a shortage of fresh air vents in our old cabin from the '60s, and I'm now considering adding some vents to improve the indoor climate a bit. The dilemma, however, is that the living room only has an exterior wall facing west, which occasionally takes quite a bit of weather exposure since the cabin is near the sea.
How would you have solved this?

I have a similar situation in the country with a cabin 5 meters from the beach.
